After a long seven hour drive, I’m sitting here in Melbourne airport, about to fly to New Zealand with Jeff Books and some of AUS best alpine racers for two weeks.
Jeff Books, who runs the best AUS alpine programs (International Ski Racer) has now joined up with the Ski Cross program and will be traveling with us part-time through out the southern and northern winter which is pretty exciting. He is a great technical coach and will bring a lot to our team.
I just spent 3 weeks up in Jindabyne (The Snowy Mountains) during the school holidays and it’s been hectic!!
I had the pleasure of working with The King’s School and also the Ravenswood Girls School over the holidays which is always fun. They all raced well and most got though to States so congrats to all of them ![]()
I haven’t had much time to myself, time to relax and just be and probably wont get a chance for that until after the SSA Futures Ski Cross camp at Mt Buller and Perisher at the end of July!
The snow has been great, the weather – not to bad and just great to be back having a FULL southern winter on-snow and training. I had some early morning sessions on-snow, hard to get up at 5:15am but always worth dragging your ass out of bed for!

I have been working hard on my strength, something I haven’t been able to do over the past 4-5 years because of all my injuries, I have made some HUGE gains and I still have months to go so I am expecting some “PB’s” by November!!
On Friday night, we just had our NSWIS Induction where I was awarded yet another great scholarship for the year. I am, and probably will always be, their longest standing scholarship holding athlete, across ALL sports.. EVER!! 18 out of 21 years of my skiing career NSWIS have been supported me so I am very grateful for their continued support.
I’ll be back in touch once I’m back from NZ, had some fush and chups in my jandals, check out a Tiki Tour while carrying my rucksack! Choice bro, sweat as!
