Matt: Your confidence must be at an all time high after all your success in racing in the past two months?
Caroline: I am definitely the most confident that I have ever been leading into the World Championships. This year so far has been almost text book and I feel like I am on form.
Matt: How much do you think confidence helps in an athlete's performance?
Caroline: In BMX at the elite level everyone is fast, everyone can ride a bike I believe the winner on the day is the most confident and the one that wants it the most.
Matt: Give us Caroline Buchanan's expert rundown of how the track looks to the viewers who are unable to see the track?
Caroline: The venue is the best venue that BMX has ever had in the NIA stadium downtown Birmingham seating roughly 13thousand people. The track however is very small and basic there is not much pedaling and it is not technical
Matt: Do you normally take one bike to international competitions or do you take a spare?
Caroline: The Australian team has a spare team bike and each rider brings one bike. To the Olympic games however each rider will take 2 complete bikes and there will be a spare team bike also.
Matt: Now you could be forgiven for thinking that all BMX girls are tom boys, which obviously isn't that case, what is the most girly thing you take with you on your trips?
Caroline: A burnt DVD collection of Americas Next top Model, The Kardashians, Kendra and project runway episodes.
Matt: How do you find adapting to the different time zones and jet lag?
Caroline: If you ask anyone on the team I am the “sleeper” of the group I can sleep on a bus on a train on a plane..I love my sleep 10 hours a night minimum!
Matt: Favourite piece of clothing besides the race suit?
Caroline: Oakley Goggles I love matching the colours to my different outfits and spicing it up.
Matt: What can we expect from you at this weekend's BMX World Champs?
Caroline: My goals are to win the Time Trial World Championship jersey and Win the Gold medal in racing...I am setting my standards high but I believe I can achieve them.
Matt: Anything you would like to say to your fans?
Caroline: The racing will be live on Cycling Central, Watch it live on www.bmxlive.tv or Extreme TV
