Matt: First off, big congrats on taking out the final round of the Champbix Series
Harriet: Thanks :)
Matt: How did you felt you raced in the Champbix Round?
Harriet: Yeah, I think I raced pretty good. I was feeling confident and it hopefully showed in my racing.
Matt: How was the track, for the viewers that can't see the track give us an idea of what it entails?
Harriet: The track was amazing! Lots of great jumps, it was very much so a jumping track. Huge start hill leading in a step up, roller and the straight finished with a jump-in-out. The second straight was filled with doubles, the third straight was a technical rhythm.
Matt: Take us through the training you were doing leading up to this event?
Harriet: Leading up to the event I had my usual GYM sessions at ACTAS, motor pacing(one of my faves) gates and plenty of track and skills time.
Matt: Do you like to listen to music pre race, if yes what types?
Harriet: Yeah, lots! The night or morning of a big event, I have a play list ill listen to which it pretty chilled, quiet, relaxing stuff. Before I get on the track though, completely different music, upbeat and playing it really loud! That what gets me in the mood. LOTS OF GLEE!
Matt: Do you have a set food routine that you do for every race meet?
Harriet: I have foods that I’ll always bring, but it depends on the day, what the weathers like, how I’m feeling, etc.
Matt: Do you still get nervous before a race?
Harriet: Definitely, it never changes, I always get super nervous but it never affects my racing so I don’t mind :)
Matt: Didn't have the best of luck in that Nationals round on Saturday take us through your race?
Harriet: I think I was racing my best, I was feeling good, but A small mistake I made cost me the race. That’s racing :). I think it just makes me more determined for Worlds.
Matt: Where to from here for you?
Harriet: I have Worlds in about 3 weeks which is the major race for the year for me. After Worlds I’m focusing on Jr Elite. Next year it’s all about UCI points and getting as many as possible.
