Matt: Congrats on taking out the number 7th best rider in the World!
Jade: Thanks heaps.
Matt: Take us through the day of racing?
Jade: Well there was nothing really special about it. Got to the track and went to the riders area. Following that I warmed up and then did some laps around the track dialling it in for the last time. Not long after, it was race time. 3 motos then a four+ hour break whilst the junior elites and elites came in for their practise and heats. Placed 2nd in my heats behind an Ecuador girl. Then I had quarter finals which I placed 2nd in, enabling me to continue on to the semi finals which I got 4th in. Finals were all that was left then, and I gave it my all finishing 7th. Couldn’t be happier!
Matt: You are making the step up into the Junior Elite Ranks next year, did you take much notice of the Junior Elite girls and how much the level of competition will increase?
Jade: Yeh thanks for reminding me haha but yeh a little but the competition has stepped up immensely with my age group so I was just focusing on them.
Matt: Sold out event, was this the biggest crowd you had raced in front of, what was the atmosphere like?
Jade: The atmosphere was amazing but nerve racking at the same time! Was a great experience especially racing alongside the junior elites which made me realise what is ahead of me.
Matt: How much does it help you being in a team with the likes of Caroline Buchanan and Sam Willoughby
Jade: It’s great to be able to say that but with racing being so hectic you don’t really see them and the high performance team weren’t situated with us this year anyway.
Matt: Highlight of the trip outside of your racing?
Jade: Going to London and seeing all the well known tourist attractions! Also going on a double decker bus and in London taxi’s several times.
Matt: Most embarrassing moment on an overseas trip for you?
Jade: I actually have no idea! Sorry.
Matt: What would be the first 5 songs we would find on your Ipod?
Jade: Whistle by Flo Rida
Payphone by Maroon 5 ft. Wiz Khalifa
Shut up and kiss me by Reece Mastin!!!
I won’t let you go by James Morrison
And I wish by One Direction
Matt: Anything you would like to say to the Aussie Public?
Jade: Thanks for all your support, without your belief in me I wouldn’t be where I am now. Also get some Fly Racing gear and a Staats bike, you’ll fly!!! ;)
