Matt: First off, how did you feel when you got told you had your first International Fight?

Lucas: It is something I've always wanted to do, and as you can imagine I've always wanted to see the world so if I can do so while boxing it's a great experience....

Matt: Would you have thought 16 months ago when you made the change from MMA to Boxing that in such a short time you would be 11-0, Aussie Heavyweight Champ and now having your first International Bout?

Lucas: I was always confident in my boxing ability and knew it was only a matter of time before I could make myself known on the world scene, but the time frame was never in my mind, I knew it would happen when it was supposed to...

Matt: You haven't got this far in the last 16 months by being lazy and last time we touched on your body, but you have made massive physical changes from where you were when you first started out in regards to being leaner, more muscular, faster and stronger now?

Lucas: I'm a boxer now not a cage fighter so I don't have to be as muscle bound or as heavy for the wrestling aspect of the cage, so my goal is to just be fit and let the body do its thing. I'm naturally a big boy and do very minimal weights sessions and with only light weights, I've never had an issue with putting weight on but have now come to realize that my body is comfortable at 118kgs, but I am hoping to get to around 115kgs as I progress...

Matt: Where did the new work ethic come from, as you had competed in MMA from a few years before changing to pursue your boxing career, now I am not saying you were lazy during your MMA career but you are a lot fitter then you have ever been?

Lucas: Its definitely come from the fact that I'm a full time fighter now thanks to my major sponsor VM DRILLING. Without their help I would still be standing on a door somewhere till the early hours of the morning and not getting the proper rest and sleep I require.

Matt: Take us through your training regime leading into this fight?

Lucas: Without giving too much away it basically consists of 2-3 sessions a day, one being a fitness session, one a boxing session, and lastly a swimming session...

Matt: So you are a big guy 6'4, 118 odd kilos, how was the flight over?

Lucas: The flight was as good as it could've been I suppose, there's no way I can say I enjoyed the 18+ hours on a plane but I did have the exit row seats and had plenty of movies to keep my mind going...

Matt: You landed in England and obviously got straight into training, you have actually been doing some work with Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton, how was that experience?

Lucas: It's always good to get other people's views on boxing and styles of training and to be involved with someone like Ricky is something that will stay with me for life. He knows what he's doing and what it takes to be the best and the knowledge he has is second to none....

Matt: Your opponent for this fight is Paul Butlin who has been around for a while, do you know much about his style?

Lucas: I know that Paul is a decent fighter who has mixed it and gone the distance with some real heavy hitters and has a nice tight guard and likes to come forward. We have been working on my technique a lot lately and am very confident that I will come out on top in the end...

Matt: I assume we are going to see another signature "Big Daddy" KO?

Lucas: I'm not a fan of leaving my career in the hands of the judges so if I can finish with a KO I will but at the same time I'm not going to rush or force anything.

Matt: Best of luck in your first International Fight, all of Australia will be supporting you.

Lucas: Thank you to VM DRILLING, Fight Labs, Kings of Ink, for all the help and support...
