Through our juniors program which started up to help promote our league

GSP, how devoted he is to training and no matter how good he is, he always strives to be better.

Currently undertaking Level 1 coaching accreditation

 

What is the reason you continue to play your sport today/motivation?

I love the sport and everything involved in it. To training, weights, fitness, everything involved to make me a better player. Anyone can motivate me, anyone that busts their ass off is an inspiration to me. No matter what level they are at.

 

What is your current club?

Spartans

 

People that have inspired you not only in sport but in life as well?

Mother - Devotes her life to helping others

 

Great experiences that happened in your life?

Selected for the Australian Gridiron team twice

 

Your Interests and Hobbies outside of your sport?

Cars - racing Music - Djing

 

One tip or quote which continues to inspire you?

The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in battle

 

Family Background and current family?

Mum was born in Italy

 

Happiest memory?

As a kid having the best xmas ever scoring heaps of presents

 

Who did you grow up idolizing?

Shaq!

 

Who has been your most influential coach?

JR. Australian and nationals coach trusted me and taught me alot of what i know

 

How has playing your sport changed your life?

At this level it is a life style. Everything i do somehow relates back to the sport to make me a better player

 

What is the greatest advice you can pass onto young players?

Train and learn as much as you can. There is a lot more than just rocking up to your sides training sessions to make you excel as a player.

 

Were you one of the best players growing up?

Of course :)

 

Training Background(sports, etc)?

Basketball, now gridiron

 

Favourite Foods/Type of diet you follow?

Lasagna. Try to eat clean healthy foods but lots of it. Lots of supplements too.

 

Favourite Bodypart to Train plus training spilt(training schedule + fav session)

Legs and shoulders. Love taking my running sled out and doing weighted sprints.

 

Describe a typical day?

Gym at 8am for an hour. Get changed ready for a sprint/agility session. Hurdles, running sled, change of direction drills. Eat a bucket load then sleep. (work nights)

 

Worst injury you have suffered?

Shoulder AC joint, Broken both wrists, needed surgery on one, mcl, dislocated fingers/thumb

 

Sporting/Club History and positions played?

Started off playing For the Port Adelaide Spartans Juniors team as a Receiver/Defensive back. played juniors for three seasons then stepped up to Seniors where i played as a Defensive Back. As the years went on and i grew as a player i moved around the field to all different positions. Offensively - Receiver, Tight End, Running back, Quarter back. Defensively - Safety, Outside Line Backer

 

Greatest sporting moment you have had thus far? Achievement to this point?

Beating Great Britain in 2009 with the Australian team. Representing Australia in 2011 in Austria in the world cup as a captain.

 

Who has been your greatest rival on the field?

Everyone is my greatest rival


What is your favourite movie?

Snatch

 

What one lesson did you take from your parents?

Give and care to others in need

 

How do you deal with temptation?

I'm easily tempted!!

 

What is your favourite music/band/song?

Trance and electro.

 

What is your biggest fear?

Fear is a weakness, i have no fear

 

Do you believe "never giving up" is the difference between making it and not making it in any sport?

Definitely. Anyone who ever made it never gave up, as soon as you give up its over.

 

Have you ever failed at anything? If yes how did you overcome this?

Of Course, but you learn from your failures and move on. Become smarter, stronger, so you don't fail at the same thing again.

 

What inspired you to succeed?

Other peoples success inspires me. Wanting to be the best at what I do encourages me to succeed.

 

What did you want to be as a kid growing up?

Fighter pilot.

 

Typical game day routine?

Weetbix brekky, double cut chicken roll for lunch. Powerade and snickers bar on way to game. Relax all day

 

What is the ultimate prize for you in your sport and why?

Representing our country, its the highest level you can get

 

Your Future Goals in your sport , what are goals after you have finished playing?

To be apart of the national team as long as possible. To teach what i have learnt throughout my career to others

 

What's the one thing about you few people know?

I turned up to my first training not knowing what the sport was

 

What one item can you not live without?

Ipod

My team mates, opposition, people who motivate me, parents, coaches, all of these have made me want to become the best i can and keep going
