How did you become involved your sport?
Always had a passion to play football (gridiron) since i was a child, as my dad was from the USA and grew up playing it and coaching high school football in the states. So needless to say i was conditioned with watching NFL since a real young age. Once old/big enough i strapped on the pads and i was away
Do you have a sporting mentor?
I have a trainer and coaches for my mentors. All my coaches have had a really large influence on my sport.
Who is your sporting hero?
Sporting heroes would have to be both Lance Armstrong and Josh Hamilton. Both coming back from different problems to be top of their game
Age you started in your sport?
i started playing organized gridiron at the age of 22

What is the reason you continue to play your sport today/motivation?
i love the competition, the physical nature of the sport. the battle for every inch on the field. there is nothing better to give your all win or lose (preferably win) in a real physical battle
What is your current club?
Monash University Warriors
People that have inspired you not only in sport but in life aswell?
My Father through life experience and coaching. Always been my number one supporter
Great experiences that happened in your life?
To play for both Victoria and Australia in gridiron. Playing in front of 10,000 people against the worlds best team USA at the world championships in Austria in 2011 was the highlight of my career
Your Interests and Hobbies outside of your sport?
Strength training, baseball, wake boarding, travelling

Family Background and current family?
Father - Born and raised in the USA
Mother - Born and raised in AUS

Happiest memory?
family get together, first game, first touchdown, first championship, there are many
Who did you grow up idolizing?
Emmitt Smith - Running back for the dallas cowboys
Mike Piazza - Catcher (baseball)
Who has been your most influential coach?
Craig Wilson - first football coach, put me in to the positions that i play today
John Leijten - Head Coach of Australian team - got the most out of my skills development
How has playing your sport changed your life?
It had taught me the kind of work ethic and team attitude that i take and put to my everyday life. It has taught me to be humble when things are good, and to never quit when things are negative
What is the greatest advice you can pass onto young players?
don't let anyone tell you that you cant do something. if you have a goal, stick to it and you WILL be able to achieve it
Were you one of the best players growing up?
i was always the small kid on the field. good but never great
Training Background(sports, etc)?
played baseball from age 8 to about 23, been training in the gym since age of 20
Favourite Foods/Type of diet you follow?
I follow the paleolithic diet. lots of meat, organic leafy vegetables, nuts and fruit
no gluten, no refined sugar
Favourite Bodypart to Train plus training spilt(training schedule + fav session)
offseason is a 4 day lifting split, upper body, lower body, rest day, upper body, lower body. and have a sprint session of two mixed in on my rest days
Describe a typical day?
wake up, breakfast ready for work, i work as a personal trainer, so i will train some clients, train myself, train some more clients and make sure i eat (usually 6-7 meals a day).
I try to do a lot of personal development and reading to always increase my knowledge and wind down with a little bit of tv at the end of the day
Worst injury you have suffered?
broken hand in my rookie football season - required surgery to have two pins put in

Monash Uni Warriors 2002-2007 - Linebacker/Defensive Back/ Running Back/Defensive Captain
Victorian Eagles - Linebacker
Australian Outback - Defensive Back/Linebacker
Greatest sporting moment you have had thus far? Acheivement to this point?
Representing Australia at the 2011 American Football world championships in Austria
Who has been your greatest rival on the field?
Daniel Tinitali - Fullback from the Baycity Bucc's (and team mate on the Victorian Eagles). There is not a single player i have gone up against more than Tinnaz. Top bloke, top player
What is your favourite movie?
Tough question, there are so many great ones. favorite comedy is probably 'forgetting sarah marshall'
What one lesson did you take from your parents?
To be grateful for everything that i have
How do you deal with temptation?
Remember to stay goal oriented. Stick to your primary goal and remember it when temptation rears its head
What is your favourite music/band/song?
Currently listening to a lot of older metal such as AFI and Bullet for my Valentine. However i also like a lot of Kanye West, Nelly and Nortorious BIG.
What is your biggest fear?
No time for fear :P
Do you believe "never giving up" is the difference between making it and not making it in any sport?
Absolutely. Also nike probably has the best slogan which is commonly over looked now of "Just do it". Don't think about it too much, if you want to do something, just go for it.
What inspired you to succeed?
My father, to live up to the life he has lived would be a great accomplishment
What did you want to be as a kid growing up?
Pilot/professional sportsman
Typical game day routine?
Pregame meal,
get to the game, listen to some music, stay relaxed/focused
take my time getting dressed/taped. i dont want to be rushed
try to stay poised and turn it on come game time
What is the ultimate prize for you in your sport and why?
the ultimate prize for me was to represent my country. Now i want to win more games representing Aus
Your Future Goals in your sport , what are goals after you have finished playing?
To play overseas would be a great experience. Once finished playing i want to develop the game in Aus, as well as to train potential athletes (S&C coach)
What one item can you not live without?
My iPad. i use it for work, and for music, movies
