How did you become involved in Strongman/Powerlifting?
I started going to the gym when I was younger to get into better shape, at school I would do early morning sessions with a teacher at school who went on to become my coach, after a while and starting to get very into it when i was 14 he asked me if I would be interested in trying out a bench press competition. After that first comp the rest is history, I have not looked back since!
Age you started Strongman/Powerlifting comps?

5'8 - Off season around 99-104kg. I compete in the 100kg and 110kg class. Recently turned 20
Accreditation's/Certificates/Degrees?
Certificate III & IV in Fitness
What is the reason you continue to be involved in the sport/motivation?
The feeling you get after working so hard and so long for that one thing, and finally achieving it is incomparable.
Your Favourite Domestic and International Strongman/Powerlifters?
International powerlifters would have to be Ed Coan, Andrey Belyaev, Andrey Malanichev, Yevgen Yarymbash and Kirk Karwoski. For Domestic it would be too hard to name names.. I have a soft spot for everybody who competes in powerlifting in Australia!
Do you find that strongman/powerlifting has helped you in your day to day life, how so?
Yes definitely, at any time I can always think about training later that day and have something to look forward to. Also the dedication and patience it has taught me helps in every aspect of life.
People that have inspired you not only in sport but in life aswell?
Close friends and family. Anyone who has very strong work ethic, good attitude and stands up for what they believe in.
Great experiences that happened in your life?
All of my competitions (good or bad) have been great experiences. The 2010 nationals and 2010 World Championships would have to be up there. Also watching all of the people I have coached succeed is always amazing.
Your Interests and Hobbies?
Sports, very into all sorts of music and I have been playing the drums for 10 years.

Happiest memory
In powerlifting I think looking at the team of lifters I took to the 2011 nationals and watching them succeed.
Future Goals in life?
I would one day like to compete at the Cup of the Titans powerlifting competition in Russia witch I believe is where the best powerlifters today compete.
What one item can you not live without
Not really an item.. but FOOOD!
Favourite holiday destination?
Anywhere with a nice beach.
What one word would you use to describe yourself?
Delightful
Do you have a sporting mentor?
The guys I train with are always very helpful. Anybody who never gives up.
Training Background(sports, etc)?
I used to play footy for fun and I competed in athletics, mainly 100m sprint.
Biggest Lifts and Favourite Lifts?
In competition; Squat - 345kg Bench Press 210kg Deadlift 300kg. My favorite lift would have to be the squat!
Training Philosophy?
Dedication and hard work with an end result in mind using the correct methodology.
Favourite Foods/Type of diet you follow?
I love steak.. No set diet at the moment I just eat every 2 hours and drink a lot of fluids. I make sure I have some sort of slow acting carbohydrates for breakfast and get lot's of protein in.
Favourite Bodypart to Train plus training spilt(training schedule + fav session)
A typical week would look like this;
Monday - Squat + Squat assistance
Tuesday - Swim
Wednesday - Bench Press + Bench Press assistance
Thursday - Swim
Friday - Deadlift + deadlift assistance
Saturday - Shoulders + whatever else needs to be done
Sunday - Off That is not set in stone and changes all the time, particularly when getting closer to a competition.
My favorite sessions are always squats!
Describe a typical training day
Closer to competitions, when I wake up all I can think about is that next training session and what I can do to take it to the maximum potential. So usually lot's of eating and getting myself into the right head space.
Worst injury you have suffered
Torn pectoral.
What is your favourite movie?
Too many to name but Fight Club, Batman Begins and The Beach come to mind.
How do you deal with temptation?
Think of what's really worth it.
What is your favourite music/band/song?
I love all types of music, Tool are my favorite band.
What is your biggest fear?
Myself
Do you believe "never giving up" is the difference between making it and not making it in any sport?
Definitely
Have you ever failed at anything? If yes how did you overcome this?
Yes of course, coming to the realization that failing is inevitable on the path to success.
What inspired you to succeed?
My mum, Myself.
What did you want to be as a kid growing up?
Rockstar!!

Myself
Who would you like to compete against?
Anybody, all competition is great.

Future Competitions planned?
In 2012 I would like to compete at the National Qualifier in May, National Titles in August and go to Las Vegas for the World championships in November.
What competitions would you like to win?
Open age national championships, Junior world championships. Both will be VERY, VERY difficult with all of the great lifters there are in Australia and overseas.
