How did you become involved in diving?
After quitting gymnastic, i met a girl who was diving and she told me to start so i thought id give it a try!
Do you have a sporting hero?
I don't have an individual to choose as there are so many athletes who are truly amazing and inspiring in their own way!
Age you started in your sport?
I started in Feb 2001 when i was 11, but turned 12 soon after on March 7th
Height, weight, age?
Currently 158cm, 51kg and 23 years old
Accrediations/degrees/qualifications?
Diploma of Beauty Therapy and Cert III in personal training
What motivates you to continue in your sport?
I still love it so why stop?
Sporting Background?
I did Gymnastics at an elite level for 7 years before i started diving. I also played basketball, netball, tennis, swimming and even pole vaulting!
What is your current business/job/full time athlete?
Full time athlete, but I do some beauty work when i get the time
Who do you compete for club/state?
I represent my club Diving South Australia, SASI, and at international competitions my country :)
People that have inspired you both in sport and life?
My family are the most inspiring people. I am where i am today thanks to my parents. Yes dedication and all my training too, but the driving and money they have given up for me is just never replaceable. Different athletes from all different sports inspire me at different times in my life
Your interests and hobbies?
I love shopping, anyone who knows me thinks I'm crazy! i also love to watch movies and hang out with my sausage dog, Armani.
One tip or quote that continues to inspire you?
If something's worth doing, it's worth doing well!
Family Background(where did you grow up) and Current Family
I grew up in a suburb of Coromandel Valley in South Australia, then moved to Netherby when i was 16. I grew up with my mom, dad and older sister
Were you always one of the better athletes growing up?
definitely not- i had talent but i soon discovered so did a lot of other people
What is one thing you would share with the children wanting to follow in your footsteps?
I truly believe that you have to enjoy what your doing. Train hard but don't forget to have fun. Life balance is so important
How has being involved/playing your sport changed your life?
Being an elite athlete i believe has shaped my life. I had to mature at a younger age than all my other friends, be independent and have good time management skills.
Who has been your biggest supporter?
My entire family. They are all so amazingly supportive of what i do and are proud of me even when I'm not!
Who has been your best coach?
All my coaches have played a really important part in my career! Tania Patterson, Mike Martens, Fiasz Marikar, Shannon Roy, Yang Zhuliang, Xiangning Chen and my current coach Hui Tong

2004 - Junior Worlds- 4th on Platform
2004 - Camo Invitaional Internationl (Junior)- 1st on Platform
2006 - Junior Worlds- 6th on Platform
2006 - FINA Russian Grand Prix (Open)- 6th on Platform
2010 - Australian Open National Championships- 4th on Platform
2011 - FINA Italian Grand Prix- 2nd 10m synchro (Hannah Thek)
2011 - FINA Russian Grand Prix- 2nd 10m synchro (Hannah Thek)
2011 - Australian Open National Championships- 2nd 10m synchro (Hannah Thek)
2012 - Auastralian Open National Championships- 1st overall on 10m Platform
2012 - Made the FINA World Cup team that competed at London Olympic pool- 22nd
2012 - Olympic Trials- 5th individually and 1st in 10m synchro (Loudy Wiggins)
Your typical weekly training split and favourite training session?
Monday 6-8am and 2:30-6pm
Tuesday 6-8am and 2:30-6pm
Wednesday 2:30-6pm
Thursday 6-8am and 2:30-6pm
Friday 6-8am and 2:30-6pm
Saturday 7-10am
Monday and Friday mornings are dry work on tramps and mats.
Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays are Strength.
All Afternoons are in the water.
Favourite trainings are leading up to comp!
Worst injury you have suffered?
I had a 3rd Grade tear in my tricep in 2008 which i have to constantly look after. I also had an arthroscope in my left shoulder in 2007.
What is the ultimate prize in your sport?
Olympic Gold Medal!
What do you find to be the toughest aspect of your sport?
In diving there is no off season as such and training is intense all year round. This makes it hard to recover from injuries and to also have life balance
What is your favourite movie?
I'm in love with Burlesque.... but i do really like to watch any movie i haven't seen before
What one lesson did you take from your parents?
Follow your heart :)
What is your favourite music/band/song?
I have always loved Christina Augilera! She is just an amazing singer. Currently loving Justin Bieber, One Direction and Carly Rae Jepson
What is your biggest fear?
The ocean, sharks, snakes, spiders and bananas!
Do you believe "never giving up" is the difference between making it and not making it in any sport?
Yes.... if it was easy, everyone would be doing it!
Have you ever failed at anything? If yes how did you overcome this?
I think we all fail at things in life, but its how you pick yourself up and get on with it that makes you who you are
What did you want to be as a kid growing up?
funnily enough a flight attendant!
Your future goals in your sports, and goals when you finish your sport?
I hope to win a medal at the 2012 Olympic Games. Beyond that in my sport will be one year at a time. After diving i want to have a family one day and move back to SA
Favourite sporting team?
Adelaide Crows all the way

What is one item you cannot live without?
Phone and Ipad!
